The years 1900-1902 saw the settlement of the first Lutheran families in the Connell area. The first Lutheran service there was led by Rev. Gillman of Ritzville in 1903. Rev. P Mueller organized the congregation in 1905 with six members. At a congregational meeting on July 18, 1915 it was decided to build a church. This was completed and dedicated April 30, 1916.
